Senior Programming Administrative Assistant

Position Summary: 
Senior Programming is a growing segment of LifeWise StL, encompassing the Senior Companion Program (SCP) and the Senior Resiliency Fund (SRF). The Administrative Assistant collaborates closely with the Director of Senior Programming, Senior Programming Coordinator, and Financial Social Worker/Benefits Specialist to support programs specifically designed for older adults in the community. The ideal candidate will thrive on frequent communication with community-dwelling older adults and enjoy supporting a team of social workers dedicated to serving them.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform data entry across multiple web and server-based platforms (Aging IS, ETO, Leapingware, etc.).
  • Process payroll for volunteers.
  • Coordinate transportation scheduling.
  • Draft and type routine correspondence.
  • Assist volunteers and participants with application forms.
  • Communicate with partner agency representatives and represent programs at community events.
  • Conduct limited field travel to collect client information.
  • Monitor clients through phone interviews.
  • Coordinate events and arrange speakers for training sessions.
  • Collaborate with program staff on assessments and research new program models.
  • Perform reception duties.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Genuine passion for working with older adults.
  • Proficiency in basic filing systems, computer systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Google Drive, Google Sheets, etc.).
  • Strong command of business English, including spelling and vocabulary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Capability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
  • Experience working with underserved and diverse populations.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, solve problems, and work independently.
  • Patient and compassionate demeanor.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the supervisor.
