Research Fellow

Posted: 11/12/2023

The Center for Predictive Analytics (C-PAN) was founded in 2019 to support the growing need for Big Data and Machine Learning solutions on SIUE’s campus, as well as in the industrial and government sectors. Our center tackles data-driven questions from all disciplines and sectors, and we strive to foster a real-world research and consulting environment that prepares our students for the workforce.

Our services are as diverse as the projects we undertake and include fee-for-service consulting and third-party research, workshops and training events, and conferences that promote the ethical use of data analytics, in addition to our collaborative research efforts at SIUE and other institutions. Our mission is to provide affordable and novel data solutions while training the next generation of data scientists and supporting the scholarly activity of our campus, as we believe this will benefit the economic growth and development of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area and beyond.

The Research Fellow will support the Partnerships for Reentry Opportunities in Workforce Development (PROWD) Researcher (Project Director), PROWD Principal Investigator, and other project leadership on research and technical assistance projects associated with the PROWD initiative. The Research Fellow will conduct research in the area of workforce development using a combination of qualitative and quantitative research techniques.

The hired individual will direct working committees assigned discrete programmatic themes (curriculum development, employer engagement, digital literacy, and best practices associated with recidivism reduction among returning residents). Specific duties include: collaborating with working committees and faculty fellows and directing graduate students to complete research tasks, research and data analysis associated with programmatic themes and outcomes, community and stakeholder presentations, engagement with Illinois Innovation Network hubs, local workforce innovation areas and community/non-profit organization partners to recruit partners and support participant outcomes.
