Pro Outdoor, based in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading provider of field services in the GREEN services space, specializing in irrigation, fertilization, and landscape maintenance. With a reputation for excellence and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, they pride themselves on delivering reliable and high-quality solutions to clients. Pro Outdoor was recently purchased by a private equity firm and is in the early stages of an aggressive expansion plan throughout the Midwest and Eastern United States. 
 
Pro Outdoor is seeking its first Director of Operations for the extensive metropolitan St. Louis region to be part of the company’s leadership team, managing and scaling field operations while strategically supporting the growth of local teams. This is the perfect job for an operations leader who has been part of a growing organization or startup, developing and refining operations to provide high quality services and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Operations for the St. Louis region will be responsible for:

Operational Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve the company's goals and objectives. Drive the vision, mission, and long-term objectives of the operations function, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational strategy. Ensure efficient execution by meeting quality and performance standards of all field services, including irrigation, land maintenance, and fertilization. Support expansion and leadership execution within designated region. Maintain effective communication channels throughout the organization, ensuring alignment and understanding of operational goals, progress, and challenges.
 
Financial Management and Performance Metrics: Accountable for the financial performance of the region, including revenue growth, cost management, and profitability. Monitor budget adherence, analyze financial data, and make data-driven decisions to optimize operational performance while achieving financial targets. Develop and monitor key performance indicators to assess operational effectiveness.  Identify trends and utilize data-driven decision making. 

Process Optimization and Efficiency: Continuously evaluate operational processes and procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency while leveraging proven methodologies to drive operational excellence. Implement best practices and standardized processes to enhance operational effectiveness and resource utilization. Ensure work is consistently completed on time with high quality standards and cost efficiencies.

Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention. Address customer concerns and issues promptly, striving to exceed customer expectations.

Compliance and Safety Oversight: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing field services operations. Oversee adherence to safety protocols and guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Strategic Growth Support: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic plans for growth and expansion. Provide valuable insights and recommendations to support the strategic growth of local teams and territories.

Management of a High Performing Team: Recruit, onboard/train, supervise, and evaluate the performance of assigned staff. Establish objectives and define results required for direct reports in support of the strategic business goals.? Coach, inspire, and enable staff to effectively perform and work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience in a senior leadership role overseeing operations at scale within the services industry.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience managing people, including recruiting, training, supervising, and motivating a team to perform to their highest potential. 
  • Proven track record of successfully managing P&L for a business unit with annual revenues exceeding $25 million.
  • Extensive experience in the field services sector or service-based industry(ies).
  • Strong understanding of, and experience with, operational efficiency, performance metrics, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

 
Location and Travel: 
This position will be based in the Chesterfield, MO office full-time. Must have the ability to travel throughout the region and as necessary.
