Asset Management Technician
Reports to: Director of Park Planning and Projects
Supervises: No direct reports
 
Position Summary: Serving under the Director of Forest Park Forever’s Department of Park & Planning (DPP), performs a range of technical and operational duties involving asset management data collection, management and reporting.  The position also assists with other duties collaborating with Forest Park Forever (FPF) staff with a focus on park asset management while advancing FPF’s mission to restore, operate, maintain & sustain Forest Park and its assets.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
 

  • Manage and operationalize the asset management software system for Forest Park. This work includes data collection, data entry and coordination regarding maintenance projects for FPF’s asset management system, data analysis the creation and running of reports.
    Create reports and metrics that involve tracking the overall condition scores of Forest Park and its major assets. Track and create monthly and annual reports regarding asset maintenance.
 
  • Work with the FPF Maintenance Project Manager to create and manage current and future maintenance projects and prioritization schedules.  Create and coordinate routine processes for all park assets involving inspections, service requests and work orders.
  • Work with DPP staff and volunteers to create, revise and otherwise manage maintenance work orders on Forest Park assets.
  • Assist in the management of maintenance and repair projects and budgets to ensure work is completed with high quality on schedule and budget and exceeds the expectations of Park visitors, and Forest Park Forever.
  • Work and collaboration with the Department of Planning & Projects and other FPF departments. Contribute to team production timelines and adherence to deadlines.
  • Communication and collaboration with all Forest Park Forever staff and the Forest Park maintenance staff of the City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry is required. Also coordinate with City of St. Louis Department of Parks, Recreation and Forestry on the tracking and recording of its maintenance on Park assets.
 
  • Address Park visitor maintenance, repair and safety related asset concerns to help ensure a positive visitor experience.
 
  • Provide support for Forest Park Forever special events.
 
 
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in asset and data management or similar role preferred.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strict attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work.
 
 
  • Interest in parks and green spaces and their role in individual and community wellbeing and health.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.
 
LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED: 
 
  • A valid driver’s license
 
 
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS:
 
  • Operation of computers and other office equipment. Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Routinely works in outdoor public space and indoor office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Standing for extended periods of time.  Perform physical tasks related to building maintenance and facility operations.
  • Report to and work in the FPF office and/or Forest Park a minimum of 3 days per week including Mondays and Fridays and remotely no more than 2 days per week.
  • Traverse uneven park terrain during events and to better understand spaces maintained by Forest Park Forever.
